The attacker may use social engineering techniques to create a sense of urgency or pressure on the recipient.

Most security experts train a multi-layered approach to email security to combat phishing threats. They combine security awareness training (SAT), secure email gateways (SEG), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to try to combat phishing attacks.
